The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Comoros validated the feasibility study report for the project entitled “Feasibility Study and Formulation of the Project Financing Proposal to be Submitted to the Green Climate Fund (GCF)” on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. This validation session, which brought together representatives from UNDP Comoros, Comorian government authorities, and the AMD International expert team responsible for the mission, was held via videoconference from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. GMT. The validation of this first report marks a key milestone paving the way for the next phases of the mission.
This project, led by AMD International’s Public Finance and Agriculture and Climate Change divisions, whose first report has just been validated, aims to strengthen hydrometeorological services and preparedness measures to enhance the resilience of the Union of the Comoros to climate hazards.
This validation session involved UNDP Comoros, the national beneficiary party, as well as the AMD International team of experts.

According to Dr. André YAMEOGO, Project Manager and Head of the Public Finance Division, this workshop highlighted the climate risks and hazards facing the Union of the Comoros. The UNDP and the national beneficiary party highly appreciated the quality of the report presented to them. They validated it and made several comments and contributions that will be taken into account in producing the final version of the report.

According to Auguste COULIBALY, Head of the Agriculture and Climate Change Division, AMD International has extensive experience in similar missions, having already carried out them in countries such as Burkina Faso, Madagascar, and Côte d’Ivoire.
The next steps of this mission will focus on the development and restitution/validation of the three (3) remaining deliverables, which are the complete project financing proposal to be submitted to the Green Climate Fund (GCF), its environmental and social management framework, as well as the gender action plan.
