The consulting firm Associés en Management Public et Développement International (AMD International) has been selected to conduct the “Gender and Power” supplementary study for the “Children’s Voices for Peace in the Sahel” project, covering the Liptako-Gourma regions (Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger). This new study reinforces AMD International’s leadership in providing high-quality expertise in gender promotion at the subregional and international levels.
A Project for Peace and Gender Equality
The “Gender and Power” supplementary study is part of the “Children’s Voices for Peace in the Sahel” project. Funded by Danish cooperation, this project is led by Save the Children International (SCI), West Africa Democracy Radio (WADR), Tink Peace, the African Movement of Working Children and Youth (MAEJT), and the Study and Research Group on Migration (GERM), for the period 2022-2025.
This project pursues four (4) main objectives:
Increased awareness among the public and political actors/decision-makers of the main vulnerabilities to child early marriage in conflict situations and recruitment into armed groups in the Sahel;
Development and implementation of early warning systems and innovative solutions adapted and led by children/youth;
Influence of children/youth in changing norms on gender-based violence (including child marriage);
Ensuring government budgetary accountability on issues related to child marriage. An In-Depth and Holistic Analysis of Gender and Power
AMD International has a twofold mandate for this project.
It will involve:
First, conducting a gender and power analysis in the project regions;
Second, formulating the gender equality plan for the “Children’s Voices for Peace in the Sahel” project.

Gender and Power (Analysis of power relations, gender inequalities, and the intersectionality of gender inequalities and other forms of discrimination (social protection, health, education, employment, water, hygiene, sanitation, etc.))
