AMD International Strengthens Its Commitment to Climate Adaptation in Algeria

As part of the NAP Dz project (Algeria’s National Adaptation Plan), Associés en Management Public et Développement International (AMD International) participated in the second meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) on Monday, February 24, 2025, held at the AZ Vieux Kouba Hotel (Algiers).

Commissioned by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Algeria to lead the mission “Producing guidance on integrating adaptation into sectoral planning in the four priority sectors and disaster risk reduction, as well as a module on gender mainstreaming,” the consultancy firm AMD International presented an analytical report on climate vulnerabilities and risks in four strategic sectors, including agriculture and forestry, public health, water resources, and public works and transportation.

Meeting Participants

This meeting, held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., provided an opportunity for the various stakeholders involved to review the deliverables completed in 2024 and discuss the next steps of the mission. AMD International’s presentation generated considerable interest among the participants, highlighting the specific challenges related to climate change in these priority sectors.

The presentation of the report led to constructive discussions that benefited all stakeholders. Participants made valuable contributions aimed at refining the recommendations and improving the overall approach.

As a key player in developing strategic guidelines for climate change adaptation, by leading this initiative, AMD International reaffirms its commitment to supporting government authorities in various African countries in implementing sustainable solutions to climate change.
